Ideally situated in the heart of the famous Ruby Valley, the lodge is located at the edge of the quaint town of Sheridan, Montana.  Surrounded by six blue-ribbon trout streams and seven mountain ranges, this Montana cabin is truly located in a sportsman’s paradise.

Fish Montana’s finest waters: The Beaverhead, Big Hole, Jefferson, Madison and Ruby rivers.

FISHING:  The Ruby River joins the Beaverhead 5 miles to the north, where it joins together with the Big Hole to form the Jefferson.  The lodge is located midway between the Madison River (35 miles to the east) and the trophy section of the Big Hole River (40 minutes to the west).  Fabulous fishing is also available on several beautiful rivers in Yellowstone National Park, which is located approximately 100 miles to the southeast.  Fishing on the Henry’s Fork of the Snake River is available only a couple of hours to the south.  Additionally, there are countless high mountain lakes in the area, which offer fine trout fishing as well.  Why lock yourself into a location and fish one or two rivers, when you can stay in Sheridan and literally fish a different blue-ribbon trout stream every day?  The region boasts 103 fishing access sites.

HUNTING:  The Ruby Valley Lodge is located in Montana’s Fish, Wildlife, & Parks Region 3 – Southwestern Montana.  Region 3 encompasses 18,089 square miles and includes the counties of   Broadwater, Gallatin, Madison (where Ruby Valley Lodge is located), Beaverhead, and Jefferson.  Big game hunting is outstanding in the Southwest Montana area.  Approximately 50% of the elk harvest in the entire state of Montana comes from Region 3.

For more information on hunting opportunities in Southwest Montana, please visit Montana’s Fish, Wildlife, & Parks’ website:  http://fwp.state.mt.us/r3

OTHER ACTIVITIES:  For those who like to hike, backpack, and/or hunt, access to the vast Beaverhead National Forest is 16 miles out of town.  Depending on the time of year, horseback riding, snowmobiling, and snowshoeing are available nearby.  Other activities include sightseeing, bike riding, rafting, and taking photographs.  Another activity is visiting the nearby old mining towns of Nevada City and Virginia City.

THE LODGEis a two story 1,500 square foot log cabin containing all of the conveniences of home.  The main floor consists of a large main room, complete with TV, VCR, and DVD.  There is also a wood burning stove located in the corner of the room.  A fly tying bench will also be available.  There is a spacious eat-in kitchen, with large refrigerator, stove, and dishwasher.  Completing the first floor is a master bedroom with a queen size lodge pole pine bed and a half bath.

The second floor consists of two large rooms, each containing two handmade full size lodge pole pine beds.  A full bathroom (with shower) is also located on the second floor.
